The employment services of the municipality of Leppävirta offer jobseekers help in finding a job and support for employers in finding workforce. The employment services provide advice on how to submit job applications, help you map out jobs and work try-outs for those who want to change careers.

The employment services can also help you use the Employment and Economics Services’ e-services.
In addition, we offer help in making and concretizing career plans.

We support the encounters between employers and jobseekers and help in successful recruitment, as well as provide information about salary subsidies and lower the threshold for recruitment.

The employment area of Central Savo will start on 1 January 2025 Employment services will be transferred to municipalities at the beginning of 2025.

The reform will bring services closer to you. In Leppävirta, the service point is the townhall at Savonkatu 39. At the same time, the current Employment and Economics Offices will be closed down. For customers, the change will not cause any measures and services will continue uninterrupted.

Sports voucher for unemployed jobseekers

The employment services of the municipality of Leppävirta support the mobility of unemployed jobseekers and the maintenance of their ability to work. Jobseekers can apply for a sports voucher from the employment services, which will enable the use of the spa, gym and ski arena of Leppävirran Virkistysuimala Leppäkerttu Oy during the year (Note that the ski arena is out of ski use for part of the year).

Sports vouchers are primarily distributed to long-term unemployed jobseekers who are customers of the employment services of the municipality of Leppävirta. In addition, sports vouchers are distributed to young people aged 19–29 in Leppävirta who do not have an education or a job.

The sports voucher is personal and can be applied for by booking an appointment with the municipality’s employment coordinator.

Health check-up for the unemployed

If necessary, you can be referred to a free health examination for the unemployed, which is carried out by the wellbeing services county of North Savo.

The aim of the service is to support general awareness of your health and how to promote it. It also aims to promote implementation of the matters agreed in the employment plan. If you want a referral for a health check-up, you can contact the employment coordinator.

Youth workshop

The workshop is a coaching community that aims to strengthen inclusion and well-being, identify competence and coach towards education and work. The workshop activities are based on multidisciplinary cooperation in youth, employment, education and health and social services.

The property maintenance workshop performs various property maintenance tasks both indoors and outdoors. Tasks and work sites vary according to the seasons, as is typical of the industry. The workshop’s activities practice safe and responsible working methods in genuine work environments in the industry.

At the core of the starter workshop is finding the young person’s own path and supporting life management.
The changing content of the workshop provides tools for job search, study skills, taking care of one’s own well-being, self-knowledge, for example. In the group, you can also practice social skills. The contents of the starter workshop can also be modified according to the needs of the group.

At the career workshop, work and study opportunities are considered in a group. We put our CVs and job applications in order, look for work and work try-outs and training opportunities. At the workshop, you can also get support for practicing interview situations, making video applications and other things that may be on your mind when looking for a job.
